An interesting winter so far...

Well... we've had snow and freezing conditions for quite a while now! Yorkshire has had it's coldest December since 1910...but hopefully the worst is out of the way and we're finally seeing some rain fronts sweep across the country to help boost the river levels.

I personally haven't been in Yorkshire all that long but it's certainly been the worst start to a winter paddling season since I've been here. December 2009 saw some great local water levels allowing me to take in the very Upper section of the River Wharfe (driving through floods to get there!) and the Hindburn and Roeburn in the Lakes - all spate rivers needing high volumes of water to make them run... here's to better water conditions this side of New Year!

Happy Paddling!
